How Metric Fasteners Differ From Non-Metric Ones
When completing a project, one may come across terms they are not that familiar with along the way. As there are many different fasteners and parts one can purchase in order to make their project a finished product, you may be overwhelmed by the options. One type of fastener which a project will call for now and again is the metric fastener. A metric fastener is different from the non-metric counterpart in the following way. The main difference pertains to the metric measurements which are used with metric nuts, bolts, screws and washers. The metric system is used to describe these metric fasteners and uses a thread pitch measurement which is noted between the diameter measurement and length measurement. Therefore, if your next project calls for metric nuts, metric bolts, metric screws, metric washers or any other type of metric fastener, make sure that the metric fasteners you purchase are scaled in metric terms.
